The Paleo diet is explosively popular. "Paleo diet" is short for "Paleolithic diet", also known as the "caveman diet". That is to say, people are genetically identical to the hunter-gatherer model, but are eating stuff that model was never designed to consume. The majority of the food, in fact, consumed in the United States consist of things like dairy products, cereals, refined sugars and vegetable oils, and alcohol, none of which were readily available Way Back When, and all of which contribute mightily to the rise of obesity, heart problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, and cancer in today's world.
